Capturing the Essence: Your Photography Essentials

Elevate your travel photography by bringing the right camera and film on your journey. The quality of your shots depends on it. Opt for a reliable
SLR camera paired with a telephoto lens for optimal results. While lenses over 300mm may require a tripod, consider the trade-off for excellent shots

Flim Selection

Pack a mix of fast and slower films to adapt to various conditions. Longer lenses demand faster film—consider 200 ISO (ASA) for low-light situations
and slower 64 ISO (ASA) for vibrant color slides. Note that low ISO (ASA) film may necessitate a tripod for stability during morning and evening shots.
For a lighter option, some prefer compact point-and-shoot cameras.

Digital Era options

Digital cameras offer instant gratification and easy sharing. Capture moments and instantly share via email, websites, or documents. If you opt for
digital, ensure an ample supply of batteries and understand your memory card's storage capacity at your preferred resolution.

Video Enthusiasts

For those with a penchant for videos, be aware that there are no video-charging facilities on the trek. Plan accordingly.

Photographing the People

With their colorful attire and serene features, Bhutanese people make captivating subjects. Children often enjoy being photographed,
eagerly positioning themselves for the perfect shot. Adults may be more reserved, so always seek permission before aiming your camera at them.

Photography Etiquette

While Bhutan is generally open to tourist photography, certain places, such as telecommunication or military areas, have restrictions. Respect signs prohibiting photography. Capture the exteriors of dzongs and Goenpas freely, but refrain from photographing the interiors of Goenpas and Lhakhangs. Drones are not allowed. Enhance your journey with well-crafted shots, preserving the beauty and culture of Bhutan through your lens.
